Executive summary

During the Structured Educational Phase, the cohort of 8 senior LATAM engineers moves from web2 experience to building on Arbitrum and Stylus. It runs as a part-time program of about 9 hours per week, organized into four weekly blocks and 18 modules: Ethereum & the EVM, Arbitrum & the Nitro Stack, Stylus Fundamentals, and Advanced Stylus & Interop. Each block has self-study, a supervised hands-on exercise, and a live Q&A. The mentors run the Q&A sessions in two working groups and answer questions between sessions in a shared Telegram channel.

The phase covers the milestone's four workstreams: a deep dive into Stylus architecture and WASM execution (Weeks 3 and 4), hands-on workshops and supervised exercises, the definition of the two tooling tracks (a Stylus Ecosystem Dashboard and a secondary open-source tooling project). The public deliverable is a technical scope document for both tools, currently being written with the cohort. After the teaching blocks, the last week of the milestone is used to define the tool scopes and architecture.

Activity 1 - Deep dive into Stylus architecture and WASM execution

The program follows a public, interactive curriculum of four weekly blocks and 18 modules. The first two blocks cover the EVM and the Arbitrum/Nitro baseline. The last two focus on Stylus. Weeks 3 and 4 introduce Stylus as a WASM virtual machine that runs alongside the EVM (MultiVM), including its activate, execute and prove lifecycle, the Rust SDK and storage model, the ink and gas cost model, caching, and Solidity to Stylus interop. This is the part of the curriculum that gives the cohort the WASM background the tooling projects need.
